  3. 📖 Read Doctrine and Covenants 51:9 and share stories of children facing decisions about honesty. Use pictures, sock puppets, or paper dolls to bring the stories to life. Discuss how the Lord blesses us when we choose to be honest.

  2. Topic: I can be honest
  3. 📖 Read Doctrine and Covenants 51:9, then play a game together. Afterward, discuss how the game would have been different if someone had cheated. Why is it important to “deal honestly” with each other?

  2. Topic: I receive the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands
  3. 📖 Read Doctrine and Covenants 52:10, 53:3, and 55:1. Look at a picture of a child being confirmed and describe what is happening. Ask the children to clap their hands when they hear “laying on of the hands” or “laying on of hands” during the reading.

  2. Topic: The Lord wants me to be a faithful, just, and wise steward
  3. 📖 Read Doctrine and Covenants 51 and reflect on what God has entrusted to you. Discuss the meanings of “steward” (verse 19) and “consecrated” (verse 5), and consider President Spencer W. Kimball’s explanation:
  4. “In the Church a stewardship is a sacred spiritual or temporal trust for which there is accountability. Because all things belong to the Lord, we are stewards over our bodies, minds, families, and properties.”

  2. Topic: I can use the blessings God has given me to bless others
  3. 📖 Read Doctrine and Covenants 55:1–4 and learn about William W. Phelps and how God used his talents. Discuss how God might invite us to use our own talents to bless His children.

Monday, June 16 – Samuel: Forgiving Others (Cartoon) — Use a short, meaningful cartoon that shows someone choosing to forgive. After watching, talk about what forgiveness means and why Jesus wants us to forgive others. Ask: How do we feel when we forgive someone? How does the Savior help us forgive, even when it’s hard? Tuesday, June 17 – Aliza: I can follow Jesus with my heart and mind (D&C 64:34) — As you read to your children from Doctrine and Covenants 64:34⁠, point to your heart and head when you say “heart” and “mind,” and invite the children to do it with you. Talk about how giving our hearts means we love the Savior, and giving our minds means we think about Him and try to follow His ways. Ask: How can we give both our desires and thoughts to Jesus? Wednesday (Aug 20) – Lily → Doctrine & Covenants 90:24, “All things shall work together for [your] good,” with a reflection on personal experiences and faith while waiting on blessings. Thursday (Aug 21) – Emmalee → Doctrine & Covenants 89 (introduction), temple song or picture to show our bodies are like temples, plus acting out healthy habits. Friday (Aug 22) – Melissa → Doctrine & Covenants 89, pondering “What are you prompted to do to better care for your body?” Saturday (Aug 23) – Matthew → Doctrine & Covenants 89:4, 18–21 & Elder Stevenson’s counsel, role-playing how to respond to temptations with alcohol/drugs, focusing on blessings of obedience.
