  1. Monday, June 16 – Samuel:
  2. Forgiving Others (Cartoon)
  3. — Use a short, meaningful cartoon that shows someone choosing to forgive. After watching, talk about what forgiveness means and why Jesus wants us to forgive others. Ask: How do we feel when we forgive someone? How does the Savior help us forgive, even when it’s hard?
  4. Tuesday, June 17 – Aliza:
  5. I can follow Jesus with my heart and mind (D&C 64:34)
  6. — As you read to your children from Doctrine and Covenants 64:34⁠, point to your heart and head when you say “heart” and “mind,” and invite the children to do it with you. Talk about how giving our hearts means we love the Savior, and giving our minds means we think about Him and try to follow His ways. Ask: How can we give both our desires and thoughts to Jesus?
  7. Wednesday, June 18 – Lily:
  8. The Lord knows who I am and loves me (D&C 66:4)
  9. — Help your children understand that William E. McLellin had five questions for the Lord, and Joseph Smith received answers even though he didn’t know what those questions were. Share a time when the Lord showed you what He wanted you to do. Then read Doctrine and Covenants 66:4 together and encourage your children to seek personal guidance from the Lord.
  10. Thursday, June 19 – Emmalee:
  11. I can help prepare the world to receive Jesus Christ
  12. — Show your children a picture of the Savior’s Second Coming and ask what they see or know about this event. You could also read Doctrine and Covenants 65 together, highlighting phrases and words about the Second Coming. Ask: What do these teach us? How can we be ready to welcome Jesus?
  13. Friday, June 20 – Melissa:
  14. God’s “great work” is built on “small things” (D&C 64:33)
  15. — Show something made of many little parts (like a puzzle or rug). Read Doctrine and Covenants 64:33 and talk about how God’s work grows through small and simple actions. Ask: What little things can we do each day to help with His work? (like praying, helping, being kind)
  16. Saturday, June 21 – Matthew:
  17. Forgiveness doesn’t always mean trust (D&C 64:7)

Monday (Aug 18) – Samuel → Video (topic TBD) Tuesday (Aug 19) – Aliza → Doctrine & Covenants 89:10–17, drawing/looking at pictures of healthy things and discussing why the Lord wants us to care for our bodies. Wednesday (Aug 20) – Lily → Doctrine & Covenants 90:24, “All things shall work together for [your] good,” with a reflection on personal experiences and faith while waiting on blessings. Thursday (Aug 21) – Emmalee → Doctrine & Covenants 89 (introduction), temple song or picture to show our bodies are like temples, plus acting out healthy habits. Friday (Aug 22) – Melissa → Doctrine & Covenants 89, pondering “What are you prompted to do to better care for your body?” Saturday (Aug 23) – Matthew → Doctrine & Covenants 89:4, 18–21 & Elder Stevenson’s counsel, role-playing how to respond to temptations with alcohol/drugs, focusing on blessings of obedience.
