Monday, March 3 – Samuel: Video (Gethsemane?)

• Tuesday, March 4 – Aliza: Take turns holding a copy of the Book of Mormon and sharing what you love about it. Discuss Martin Harris’s sacrifice (D&C Stories, 33) and D&C 19:38. Think of something to sacrifice for God.

• Wednesday, March 5 – Lily: Find and sing songs from Hymns or the Children’s Songbook that express feelings about Jesus Christ.

• Thursday, March 6 – Emmalee: Act out phrases from D&C 19:23 while reading the verse multiple times. Discuss ways to learn of Christ and listen to His words.

• Friday, March 7 – Melissa: Discuss the difficulty of Christ’s suffering for our sins and His willingness to obey God (D&C 19:18–19, 24; Mosiah 3:7). What difficult things does God ask us to do? How can we find courage to obey?

• Saturday, March 8 – Matthew: Find and sing songs from Hymns or the Children’s Songbook that express feelings about Jesus Christ.

Monday, June 16 – Samuel: Forgiving Others (Cartoon) — Use a short, meaningful cartoon that shows someone choosing to forgive. After watching, talk about what forgiveness means and why Jesus wants us to forgive others. Ask: How do we feel when we forgive someone? How does the Savior help us forgive, even when it’s hard? Tuesday, June 17 – Aliza: I can follow Jesus with my heart and mind (D&C 64:34) — As you read to your children from Doctrine and Covenants 64:34⁠, point to your heart and head when you say “heart” and “mind,” and invite the children to do it with you. Talk about how giving our hearts means we love the Savior, and giving our minds means we think about Him and try to follow His ways. Ask: How can we give both our desires and thoughts to Jesus? Monday (Aug 18) – Samuel → Video (topic TBD) Tuesday (Aug 19) – Aliza → Doctrine & Covenants 89:10–17, drawing/looking at pictures of healthy things and discussing why the Lord wants us to care for our bodies. Wednesday (Aug 20) – Lily → Doctrine & Covenants 90:24, “All things shall work together for [your] good,” with a reflection on personal experiences and faith while waiting on blessings. Thursday (Aug 21) – Emmalee → Doctrine & Covenants 89 (introduction), temple song or picture to show our bodies are like temples, plus acting out healthy habits. Friday (Aug 22) – Melissa → Doctrine & Covenants 89, pondering “What are you prompted to do to better care for your body?” Saturday (Aug 23) – Matthew → Doctrine & Covenants 89:4, 18–21 & Elder Stevenson’s counsel, role-playing how to respond to temptations with alcohol/drugs, focusing on blessings of obedience.
