• Monday, March 17 – Samuel: D&C Stories 46-47

• Tuesday, March 18 – Aliza: After reading Doctrine and Covenants 25:12, you could tell each other about your favorite hymn or Church song—your “song of the heart”—and sing them together. Share with each other why you love these songs.

• Wednesday, March 19 – Lily: What does Doctrine and Covenants 24:8 teach us about patience? “Marshmallow patience.”

• Thursday, March 20 – Emmalee: To understand what it means to “cleave unto the covenants” (Doctrine and Covenants 25:13), your children could take turns holding on to something as tightly as they can.

• Friday, March 21 – Melissa: The Savior can lift me “up out of [my] afflictions.” Look for words in Doctrine and Covenants 24 that you feel would have been strengthening and encouraging to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery during their trials.

• Saturday, March 22 – Matthew: “Continue in the spirit of meekness.” What does the phrase “the spirit of meekness” mean to you? Search section 25 for words and phrases that help you understand meekness. Elder Bednar’s message “Meek and Lowly of Heart” (Ensign or Liahona, May 2018) could also help. How is Jesus Christ an example of meekness to you? (see Matthew 11:28–30).

Monday, June 16 – Samuel: Forgiving Others (Cartoon) — Use a short, meaningful cartoon that shows someone choosing to forgive. After watching, talk about what forgiveness means and why Jesus wants us to forgive others. Ask: How do we feel when we forgive someone? How does the Savior help us forgive, even when it’s hard? Tuesday, June 17 – Aliza: I can follow Jesus with my heart and mind (D&C 64:34) — As you read to your children from Doctrine and Covenants 64:34⁠, point to your heart and head when you say “heart” and “mind,” and invite the children to do it with you. Talk about how giving our hearts means we love the Savior, and giving our minds means we think about Him and try to follow His ways. Ask: How can we give both our desires and thoughts to Jesus? Monday (Aug 18) – Samuel → Video (topic TBD) Tuesday (Aug 19) – Aliza → Doctrine & Covenants 89:10–17, drawing/looking at pictures of healthy things and discussing why the Lord wants us to care for our bodies. Wednesday (Aug 20) – Lily → Doctrine & Covenants 90:24, “All things shall work together for [your] good,” with a reflection on personal experiences and faith while waiting on blessings. Thursday (Aug 21) – Emmalee → Doctrine & Covenants 89 (introduction), temple song or picture to show our bodies are like temples, plus acting out healthy habits.
